With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary\, Cabaret explores the dark\, heady\, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff\, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin\, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile\, Fräulein Schneider\, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house\, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz\, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Devin’s focus is concentrating on bright\, bold\, and vivid colors in her abstract canvas paintings\, using a multiple array of mixed mediums. \nDevin wants her audience to be entertained and walk away from her art feeling happy\, uplifted and not afraid of bringing some color into their world. She wants to inspire young people to go after their dreams no matter what obstacles they may be facing. \nThis solo show marks Devin’s happy return to the upper lobby art gallery at the MRPAC. She was previously featured in the inaugural installation of the gallery in a shared show when it opened in June 2021. \n
