Meet the Author: Tracey Enerson Wood
Playwright and author Tracey Enerson Wood joins us to discuss her newest novel, THE PRESIDENT’S WIFE, a fascinating behind-the-scenes story of a historical White House in crisis and Edith Bolling, the First Lady who secretly stepped in to fill Woodrow Wilson’s place after he suffered a debilitating stroke. Wood’s novel follows the true story of socialite Edith Bolling, second wife to President Woodrow Wilson. After the president suffered a severe stroke, Edith took over many routine government duties, and carefully screened which matters were brought to her husband’s attention. Referred to by many as the “Secret President,” Edith’s courage and her sacrifice for her husband and country are beautifully brought to life by Wood, who, with her rich prose and her thorough research, ensures that Edith’s story will never be forgotten. Tracey will talk about THE PRESIDENT’S WIFE, answer audience questions and sign books.
